Parade Manners

Jess and I loaded up the vehicles and headed to Robinson yesterday to set up at the Heath Harvest Festival. It was a typical fall day, freezing in the morning and hot and sunny in the afternoon. It was a gorgeous day to be outside and enjoy an afternoon of people watching. It is amazing what you can witness when you sit back and observe complete strangers for instance. Here's an adorable little red head who just wanted to get a little candy at the parade...

Unfortunately he was up against some stiff competition. Check out these two who were quick to edge him out every chance they could get...

You've got to be kidding!?! I know you aren't, I see it happen at our Fall Festival. Sometimes, if it just sits out in the road for a few minutes, I will pick it up just so I can give Robert a little parade candy (at the fall fest, he got 2 paydays, a couple of tootsie rolls and a box of milkduds, not much but a treat after marching).
I know a lady who picks up as much of it as she can so she can recycle it and bring it to other kids. Sorry, it's just wrong, go buy the candy!!

Oh, you have to experience the joy of that parade. The people will stand in the road and step into the band to get the candy. My thoughts are buy the tootsie roll at Wal-Mart, much less dangerous than being hit by a flag pole.

Excuse me guard mom.... just where are the photos of the guard?!?!?

AJ has mastered how to 'get' candy! Several parades ago I told him if he waves they will throw to him. Well, I noticed at the homecoming parade he has it down to an art! So cute to see!
