Name these feet

Okay, I have never been accused of being the trendy sister. I found my style in the 80s and am perfectly content there. (un)Fortunately I have been blessed with a sister who tries to keep me within the same style decade. Periodically she will "gently" nudge me into purchasing something new and dare I say it... stylish. For this S is eternally grateful. But then one day you find yourself taking a good look at your stylist and asking yourself, "Is this really the person I want giving me fashion tips?" Now I have already admitted that I am completely out of touch with current fashion trends, but is this acceptable, let alone chic?

I love Sundays...

I was raised in a family that has always put family first. From as far back as I can remember my mother and grandmother have said to me, "people will come and go in your life, but your family will always be your family." Its something I find myself repeating to my own children frequently. Probably the thing I missed most about living in St. Louis was Sundays. For us, Sunday is family day. If you don't "have" to be somewhere else, you're always welcome to lunch at mom's. On any given Sunday you will find 10-30 people gathered at mom and dad's for a holiday style meal complete with at least two delectable desserts to chose from. As the meal winds down the kids head outside, the men make their way to the big screen to watch whatever sport happens to be in season and the ladies gather around the dining room table for some "gab" time. Conversation topics vary each week and can range from disciplining our children to global warming. Regardless of the importance of the topic you can bet there will be a heated debate and thus the need for the "speaking spoon." The person holding the spoon is to be given the floor... no interruptions. Great theory... we are still working on the execution...

The crash

After calling it a night at 4:54 am, this is the sight I awoke to at 7:07 am. Keep in mind there are 16 girls scattered throughout the house in various locations, several of which I have unwittingly stumbled across in odd locations like behind the furniture, under the dining room table... It's gonna be a long day at the Huschle house.

Greetings from Jasper County

I was introduced to the blogging world several months ago when my sister started up her own blog and insisted we all start watching her blog. It didn't take me long at all to become hooked and of course the next logical step was to start up my own blog. The first major hurdle to overcome was finding the time to pull it together. That problem was solved when S decided to invite eighteen 13 and 14 year old girls over for an overnighter. The party seems to have gone very well, no fights as far as I can tell and sometime around 3 am we fractured into two groups. The responsible ones...

and the rest...
